JUST A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I serve a God with the big "G", not the little one.

I serve a God with the big "G"—none of this would be possible without Him leading and guiding my every step. Everything you see throughout my life and this platform is a prayer manifested. I hold close to the truth of the scripture found in Mark 9:23: “All things are possible to those who believe.”

Fun Fact: I can stay in my home (without having an urge to leave) for a minimum of 72 hours straight.

I can stay in my home for a minimum of 72 hours straight without ever feeling the urge to leave. My home is my sanctuary—peaceful and full of activities that keep me fulfilled. Boredom is a concept I don’t experience, and to be honest, I’m not even sure what it feels like!

I am a self-proclaimed culinary enthusiast.

I am a self-proclaimed culinary enthusiast, confident in my ability to cook any meal, follow any recipe, or craft flavorful dishes purely based on taste. The irony? My teen daughter rarely tries my creations, no matter how mouthwatering they smell or look!

When I was a little girl, I had high ambitions and gigantic dreams until...

One particular day, I went with my mother to her favorite beauty supply store in the heart of North Minneapolis, MN, on Broadway Ave. Up until that day, whenever someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would confidently say either an artist, an author/illustrator, a lawyer, or a businesswoman with an office made of glass walls, where I could come and go as I pleased.

However, my brain must have been exhausted from the day’s shenanigans. The year was between 1986 and 1988 when the store owner asked me that same familiar question: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Instead of my usual answers, I blurted out, “A cooker!” [Cue the scratch on the record player!]

I must have said something terribly wrong because my mother’s horrified reaction was instant. “A WHAT?!?” she squealed. I repeated myself, this time I said it with my chest: “A COOKER!” I had managed to embarrass my mother to her core. I don't fully remember what happened next, but I do recall silence.

The moment we returned to the car, a “lecture” was waiting for me. Looking back, I’m pretty sure that moment in the store was when I realized one thing for certain—I cannot stand small talk! LOL

No Small Talk, Please!
Speaking of small talk—it’s not my thing. I rarely discuss the weather, traffic, or my favorite color. I prefer meaningful conversations that inspire and connect.

Professionally...

I am driven by a deep passion for supporting and uplifting the Black community. While I enjoy collaborating with diverse cultures and demographics, my heart belongs to serving those who share my melanated skin. My work is focused on:

  • Community Engagement: Connecting people to bring forth collective growth.

  • Event Coordination: Curating impactful and purpose-driven experiences.

  • Creative Branding: Helping businesses and individuals shine through positive representation.

In addition to my professional pursuits, I advocate for domestic abuse support initiatives, working to ensure survivors have access to essential resources. With every step I take, I aim to inspire positive change, starting within my community and radiating outward. Everything I do reflects my commitment to empowering others, amplifying Black excellence, and staying true to my purpose.
